England-born Ghanaian defender Anita Amma Ankyewah Asante has expressed her delight after signing a two year contract extension with Swedish club FC Rosengard.
Asante, A former Arsenal and Chelsea Ladies defender was rewarded with a contract extension at FC Rosengard after impressing in 37 appearances and scoring two goals since joining Malmo based club in 2013.
Speaking to Sportsworldghana.com in an exclusive interview, The 30-year-old England women’s national team player who was part of the Arsenal Ladies team that made history by being the first team outside Germany to win the UEFA Women’s Cup in 2006 insists She feel valued by Her Bosses and Teammates.
“I was very happy that FC Rosengård wanted to renew my contract as expressed faith in me as a player and what I have managed to contribute to the team on and off the field. Asante, affectionately called ‘Neets’ told Sportsworldghana.com.
She added: There is no better feeling than feeling valued by your bosses and team mates. It’s important for me to still feel like I have a lot to contribute to the club and helps me to stay focused and motivated.
Born to Ghanaian Parents, Anita Amma Ankyewah Asante has made more than 65 appearances for the English national team.
